This is why you need GPs. My GP register asked me to look at a patient’s rash 2 weeks ago. I immediately recognised it as this condition. There was no need for any tests beyond asking one question.
Have to say I had a patient who used a heating pad for lower back pain who had a similar rash. Went away after he had a spinal stimulator placed. In my ignorance, I accepted the patient’s explanation and did no test.
